Gawthwaite is a village in Lancashire, sitting beside the A5092 road, five miles north of Ulverston.
Gawthwaite High Quarry is in the vicinity. The Cumbria Way, a three-county long-distance walking trail, passes through at the beginning of its long route to Carlisle.
