Inver is a pretty little village in Cromartyshire located on the south east shore of the Inver Bay at the point where the bay opens out into the Dornoch Firth. The main part of the village is located in the parish of Tain but an area called Skinnertown, or Skinnerton extends over the border into the parish of Tarbat, Ross-shire to the east.
