English: Avebury Trusloe, Avebury Avebury Trusloe is a small settlement west of its more famous neighbour. The conical hill in the background is Silbury Hill, said by some to be the remains of a load of old shoes dumped there by an itinerant cobbler on his way to (or perhaps from, I can't remember) Marlborough. This explanation is as likely as any other I've heard for the hill's existence.
