Description
English: Bata Shoes factory, East Tilbury, Thurrock, England. Built in 1932 by Thomas Bata, a Czechoslovakian shoe manufacturer, this factory reflects the 'modernist' style of architecture. An article on the background to why a Czech wanted to build in Essex can be found in this Guardian article.
