Lovedean is a village in eastern Hampshire, a mile and a half west of Horndean and effectively grown to be an undistinguished suburb of it.

The village is gathered around the main road Lovedean Lane, situated at the bottom of the valley after which it is presumed to be named: 'dean' is from the old English word Denu, meaning valley.

There is one remaining pub, The Bird in Hand, and a few shops in the village. The FA Cup trophy was hidden at The Bird in Hand during the Second World War: Portsmouth wion the trophy a few months before the outbreak of the war in 1939.[1]
