Middleton Top Engine House is a steam engine house built in 1829 by the Butterley Company to haul wagons up the Middleton incline on Middleton Moor, where there are quarries. It is found halfway between Middleton to the north and Wirksworth to the south.

Today the Engine House has been restored and converted into a visitors' centre. It remains a scheduled monument.[1]
